With a plethora of available Lyme treatments and no one-size-fits-all protocol, how do you decide which therapy(ies) you should be undertaking for Lyme?
Statistics on different healing strategies and knowing what assortment of infections you’re up against, may get the wheels of decision moving. Although inevitably, your unique biochemistry, along with Lyme “specialists” who disagree upon protocol, mean that you’ll have to come up with a way of sorting out every white lab coat’s (or blue-collar’s) “professional” opinion, as well as your own, in order to discover which strategy might suit you.
So not being an expert on your own body or in medicine, what do you do?
Well, consider that God might give you an insight or two by speaking through your intuition. I believe this is one way in which He communicates to his humans, but even if you disagree with me, there’s something awfully brilliant about that ol’ gut feeling, isn’t there?
You may not be accustomed to the quiet voice of intuition; you may find yourself ignoring it until you’re in a life-or-death situation, (in which case, the voice tends to speak loudly, as in “Quick! Get out of the building, your attacker is coming to get you!”). Yet, if you are still, if you move the busy thoughts and loud prejudices aside, you might hear God speaking to your viscerals, telling you a thing or two about what your body needs.
Listen to the voice, and trust it, knowing that you’ve probably got too much wax in your ears to understand perfectly, but if you keep getting the same impression about a particular treatment, then perhaps that’s the one you ought to try next.
Before I knew I had Lyme, I instinctively felt there was something wrong with my adrenal glands, and I had this vague feeling from day one that I needed to pay serious attention to this organ, whatever sickness ailed me. After nearly three years with Lyme, this belief has been solidified through lab test results and symptoms that correlate with adrenal fatigue. Granted, I have a myriad of other dysfunctions, but my “gut” has been whispering admonitions left and right to heal my endocrine system in order to overcome Lyme.
When presented with several treatment options, stop, open your ears, and keep listening as you go about your day. Trust that feeling which pokes at you from deep within, that feeling you’re not sure about but which hangs around nonetheless. It may be trying to tell you something important about which treatment path to walk when the light turns green and it’s time to go.
